Princeton beat Alabama for a recruit.

If those words have been said before, they haven’t been said very often.

That’s reality for the Tide after 4-star quarterback Brevin White reportedly turned down a late Alabama offer and held true to his verbal commitment to Princeton, according to 247sports’ Barton Simmons:

White got an offer from Alabama a week ago, which was roughly 2 weeks before National Signing Day. He’s been committed to Princeton since July, but the Tide still tried to make a late push to sign him to the 2018 class. White took a late visit to Alabama last week, as well.

He also got offers from Tennessee, Washington and Washington State. The Lancaster, California native is the No. 13 pro-style quarterback and the No. 338 player overall in the 2018 class.

With White sticking with Princeton, Alabama is still without a 2018 quarterback, which is interesting considering Tua Tagovailoa’s emergence as a true freshman in the National Championship. Will the Tide be content to wrap up the 2018 class without a quarterback?

With just 5 days until National Signing Day, the clock is certainly ticking.
