Alabama handed Georgia a stunning defeat in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta on Saturday evening. It was the Bulldogs’ first loss of the season.
Now, Alabama is no longer ranked No. 3 in the latest ESPN Football Power Index (FPI) rankings.
In the latest FPI rankings, Alabama has moved up to No. 2. Georgia is still No. 1, but Ohio State fell from No. 2 to No. 3 to make way for the Tide.
Georgia remains No. 1 despite the loss, but Alabama will have a chance to move up to the top spot if it wins in the Playoff.
We’ll see what each team’s CFP semifinal matchup is later on Sunday afternoon.
