Alabama built itself into college football’s modern dynasty thanks to a stifling defense.

But this iteration of the Crimson Tide can score with the best of them, too.

A Joseph Bulovas field goal put No. 1 Alabama ahead of Arkansas 51-17 early in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game, marking the fifth time the Crimson Tide have eclipsed the 50-point mark this season. That matches a program-high, a mark Alabama will almost surely shatter with six games to play this season.

Prior to Saturday, the Crimson Tide had scored 51 points against Louisville, 57 against Arkansas State, 62 against Ole Miss and 56 against Louisiana. Alabama’s lone game below 50 points was a 45-23 victory against then-No. 22 Texas A&M.

The Crimson Tide currently leads 58-17 with about 12 minutes to play, so Saturday’s game might end up being the team’s season-high in points.
