The 2020 recruiting cycle isn’t quite over, but things are quite active on the recruiting trail for the class of 2021. Alabama landed a big pickup for 2021 on Friday with the commitment of in-state edge rusher Deontae Lawson.
The Mobile Christian School defender is rated 4-stars, the No. 8 recruit in Alabama, No. 16 weak-side defensive end and No. 248 prospect overall nationally for the class of 2021 on the 247Sports Composite. Even with the 2021 signing period roughly a year away, Lawson has already collected 29 scholarship offers, including Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt.
At this time, Lawson himself has not announced the commitment on social media, but multiple recruiting reporters have shared the news.
