Alabama had some unfortunate injury news out of Saturday’s scrimmage. Running back Jam Miller had a procedure Saturday evening to address an upper-body injury, Kalen DeBoer revealed.
DeBoer said Miller should fully recover, but did not offer a timetable.
Jam Miller suffered an upper-body injury in Saturday’s scrimmage and went in for a procedure on Saturday evening,” DeBoer said in a statement released Sunday morning. “Jam should recover fully with a timetable for his return yet to be determined.
While DeBoer did not offer an official timeline, indications are that Miller is expected to miss Alabama’s season-opening showdown at Florida State.
Kalen DeBoer confirmed the injury in a statement just now and says a timeline for Miller’s return is TBD.

Miller was Alabama’s most productive running back in 2024. He rushed 145 times for 668 yards and 7 touchdowns. Miller’s absence provides opportunities for returning sophomores Richard Young and Daniel Hill. Young appeared in 7 games last season, rushing 27 times for 146 yards and 2 TDs. Hill played in 9 games, logging 21 carries for 61 yards and 1 score.
