Alabama running back Justice Haynes is planning to enter the transfer portal, according to a report.
That’s per On3’s Pete Nakos, who shared the news on Friday afternoon.
Haynes was a big part of Alabama’s rushing attack this season. He finished the season with 448 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns on 79 carries. Haynes ended the regular season as Alabama’s third-leading rusher behind quarterback Jalen Milroe and running back Jam Miller.
Haynes spent 2 seasons with the Crimson Tide and will be a big loss for the Alabama offense moving forward. He averaged almost 6 yards per carry across his 2 seasons in Tuscaloosa and scored 9 rushing touchdowns over that span as well.
Miller is eligible to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, although it’s unclear whether or not he will do so. He’s coming off of a season in-which he rushed for over 600 yards at Alabama. Regardless of whether or not he returns, Alabama will need someone else to step up in Haynes’ place next season. Richard Young, a 4-star RB in class of 2023, could be a candidate for more playing time next season. Alabama also signed a highly-rated running back in Akylin Dear in the class of 2025.
Alabama will close out the 2024 season against Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
