On Wednesday, Alabama coach Nick Saban announced that sophomore safety Daniel Wright has been suspended for a violation of team rules.

But even if Wright was still allowed to play, he probably wouldn’t be healthy enough to do so.

Wright on Thursday tweeted a picture of himself from the hospital following shoulder surgery. The safety suffered an injury to that area in fall camp but was still able to play in the first four games of the season.

Wright had eight total tackles and a pair of pass breakups to his credit before having to leave the field. He played mostly special teams during his freshman year in 2017, when he appeared in all 14 games for the Crimson Tide.

Saban will likely provide some clarification on Wright’s situation the next time he meets with reporters.
