Alabama snaps incredible streak of being ranked inside top 5 of AP Poll

Mixed opinions surround the Alabama Crimson Tide for the first time in a very long time now that the team looks more shaky than it ever has over the course of recent history. And it’s because of that the Crimson Tide are not in the top-five of the rankings the way they typically are.
That’s even more significant than meets the eye. Following Saturday’s 52-49 road loss to the Tennessee Volunteers, the Crimson Tide fell to No. 6 in the AP Top 25 poll. That’s the first time the team has been ranked outside of the top five teams since 2019 when they finished at No. 8.
This ends an incredibly long streak, as was noted by Brett McMurphy of The Action Network.
Alabama is not ranked in the top five of @AP_Top25 poll for 1st time since end of 2019 season, when Tide finished No. 8. This ends Bama’s streak of 40 consecutive polls ranked in top five

Alabama will aim to get back on the right track as it faces a Mississippi State Bulldogs team in Tuscaloosa next week that is also looking to redeem itself from a loss after falling 27-17 to the Kentucky Wildcats in Lexington.
