It’s a defensive battle to start in Tuscaloosa. After South Carolina forced a safety on the previous drive, Alabama snatched the ball right back by forcing a sack fumble on LaNorris Sellers.

Jihaad Campbell did the honors for the Crimson Tide, slicing into the backfield to wrap up Sellers. In a panic, Sellers lost the ball in what might have been a lateral.

Not exactly sure what Sellers’ plan was here. You be the judge:

Unfortunately, Jalen Milroe threw an interception just 3 plays later.

This game has been very bizarre, especially in the final minutes. It looked as if Alabama was going to roll over the Gamecocks in the early going, but Shane Beamer’s squad turned the intensity up on defense and have since crawled their way back into it. As we head into the half the score sits at Alabama 14, South Carolina 12.

Alabama desperately needs to come out with some fire in the 2nd half. The Tide’s play has been uninspired since the first half of their impressive win over Georgia, most notably shown by a loss to Vanderbilt last week. Despite South Carolina’s inability to move the ball, Alabama is in real danger of dropping yet another game they simply shouldn’t here in Week 7.
