Alabama softball team beats Texas, advances to Women’s College World Series

The Alabama Crimson Tide played host to the Texas Longhorns in the super-regional round of the NCAA Tournament this weekend, but needed all three games to advance.

Now, the Tide are on their way to Oklahoma City after beating the Longhorns in two out of three games. After winning 3-0 on Thursday, the Tide lost 7-5 on Friday before clinching a Women’s College World Series berth with a 9-5 victory on Saturday.

The Tide were helped with back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the third inning, which you can see in the video below:

Now, they’re off to OKC, which will be their 12th trip to the WCWS in program history:

The Tide will be joined in Oklahoma City by at least one other SEC team, as Tennessee and Florida are facing off against one another in the Gainesville super regional.
