Alabama turned in the most impressive performance of the weekend Saturday, dominating Dak Prescott and Mississippi State.

That was enough for the Tide to remain firmly at No. 3 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, released Sunday. Alabama received four first-place votes, two more than Ohio State, which was ranked No. 2. Clemson remained No. 1.

The Tide received four first-place votes and moved up one spot to No. 3 in the Coaches Poll.

Alabama was ranked No. 2 behind Clemson in last week’s College Football Playoff ranking. The next CFP Poll is released at 7 p.m. Eastern Tuesday.

The Crimson Tide’s 31-6 road victory over the Bulldogs was its second consecutive over a ranked opponent and third in the past four games.

Overall, Alabama is 5-1 against ranked teams.

For comparison, Clemson is 2-0 against ranked teams, Notre Dame is 2-1 and Ohio State has yet to play a ranked team.

Alabama hosts FCS Charleston Southern on Saturday before closing the regular season Nov. 28 in its annual Iron Bowl matchup at Auburn.
