Alabama, for the 10th time in the Nick Saban era, is officially heading to the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta.

The Crimson Tide clobbered Kentucky on the road on Saturday afternoon, earning a 49-21 victory over the Wildcats in Lexington.

That victory means the Tide can’t finish with worse than a 7-1 SEC record, and with a win over Ole Miss in hand, that means Alabama is officially your SEC West champion for the 2023 season:

Ole Miss can still shake things up in the SEC East with a win at Georgia on Saturday night, but the Rebels have officially been eliminated from SEC West contention.

In those 9 previous SEC Championship Game appearances, Saban’s Alabama squad has won 8 conference titles.

Can the Tide make it 9 titles in 10 trips to Atlanta this year? It seems probable that 2-time reigning national champion Georgia will be waiting for the Tide on the first weekend in December. There would be major College Football Playoff implications in that matchup.
