The wide receiver position in the college ranks currently boasts some of the biggest stars in the entire sport, and few names are as big as Alabama Crimson Tide sophomore Ryan Williams.
The second-year wideout burst onto the scene in 2024 as a 17-year-old true freshman, making highlight reel-worthy catches every time he touched the field for the Tide.
Williams’ uncanny ability to constantly make some of the most mind-boggling plays imaginable on a weekly basis naturally boosted his star power to insane heights, and with the star power also came a good amount of NIL opportunities.
These opportunities have translated into Williams becoming one of the top NIL earners in all of college football, with On3’s Pete Nakos reporting that the Alabama star is making upwards of $1.8 million in 2025 alone.
This makes Williams the second-highest paid wide receiver in the nation in terms of NIL earnings, with only Ohio State Buckeyes’ sophomore superstar Jeremiah Smith slated to earn more during the 2025 campaign.
If there’s one player who has earned such a massive NIL payday, it’s Williams. He’s become the next bona fide star, who’s become a long line of legendary pass catchers to come through Tuscaloosa.
The Tide will now be hoping that his immense talent can help right the ship moving forward, following a bumpy start to the year.
