When the Alabama Crimson Tide host the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday afternoon in Tuscaloosa, stopping dual-threat QB Trevor Knight will be critical to the Tide’s success.

Fortunately for Nick Saban’s squad, the defense has been practicing against a dual-threat quarterback all season — freshman sensation Jalen Hurts.

Saban told ESPN.com that practicing against Hurts has benefitted the Tide’s stout defense:

“It does benefit you [on defense] to have a mobile guy like that,” Saban said.

DL Shaun Dion Hamilton agreed with his coach and expects the Tide to be ready for Knight:

“Now, we see it all the time in practice before just seeing it only on Saturday,” linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton said of the defense adapting to Hurts’ mobile play. “Practice makes perfect and that definitely carries over to the games on Saturday.”

No. 1 Alabama hosts No. 6 Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon. The SEC West showdown starts at 2:30 p.m. Central time and can be seen on CBS.
