Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa strengthens status as Vegas’ Heisman Trophy favorite
Tua Tagovailoa threw his first interception of the season last week, but his position as Heisman Trophy frontrunner is as strong as ever.
Alabama’s sophomore quarterback extended his huge lead in Bovada’s Heisman odds released Monday. He completed 25 of 42 passes for 295 yards and two scores while adding a 44-yard rushing touchdown as the top-ranked Crimson Tide rolled to a 29-0 win at No. 3 LSU.
While every other player saw their odds decrease or remain the same, Tagovailoa cemented himself as a heavy favorite and now enjoys a 1/10 billing. You can view Bovada’s full list of Heisman Trophy contenders below.
[table “” not found /]Bovada listed only eight players, one fewer than last week after Trace McSorley dropped off the board following Penn State’s crushing 42-7 loss against Michigan. West Virginia’s Will Grier was the only player whose odds didn’t worse, instead holding steady at 18/1.
At the moment, the Heisman appears to be Tagovailoa’s to lose.
