It was the week of the running back in the SEC, as six different ballcarriers rushed for more than 100 yards during Week 11 play throughout the conference. Here’s a look at the All-SEC Team from the week that was.
OFFENSE
QB Drew Lock – The SEC saw only one 300-yard passer in Week 11 in Dak Prescott, who finished with an even 300 yards. But Prescott failed to throw any touchdown passes as he and his Mississippi State teammates fell to Alabama 31-6. The quarterback of the week honors goes to Drew Lock, who helped Missouri orchestrate an upset of BYU at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium. Lock finished with 244 yards and a touchdown as the Tigers capped an emotional week in Columbia.
RB Derrick Henry – Leonard Fournette who? Derrick Henry has closed what was once thought to be an insurmountable SEC rushing lead for Fournette to a mere 16 yards. Henry now has 1,458 yards on the season, thanks to a 204-yard, two-touchdown effort against Mississippi State. It was the third 200-yard performance of the Alabama tailback’s career. His back-to-back 200-yard rushing games are the first time that’s happened in Alabama history. Henry was also able to supplant Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott for second in the nation behind Fournette.
RB Alvin Kamara – Second-string Tennessee running back Alvin Kamara rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns in Week 11 as the Vols downed North Texas. The effort is the first 100-yard performance for the sophomore since rushing for 144 yards in the season opener against Bowling Green.
WR Christian Kirk – Christian Kirk continued his torrid freshman year by hauling in 122 yards and his second multiple receiving touchdown game of the season. The Texas A&M wideout also added 74 yards on three kick and punt returns as the Aggies easily disposed Western Carolina 41-17. Kirk is second in the SEC in receiving yards on the season with 828 yards, some 275 yards behind Ole Miss’ Laquon Treadwell for tops in the conference.
WR Isaiah McKenzie – Isaiah McKenzie might be the most versatile weapon Georgia has on offense. The wide receiver took an Auburn punt 69 yards for a touchdown in the Bulldogs’ Week 11 win. McKenzie also scored on a 4-yard run while adding 25 rushing yards and 20 receiving yards.
Alabama OL – The Alabama offensive line cleared the way for 235 yards on the ground. Nick Saban’s program is 75-4 in the last eight years when rushing for at least 140 yards and has scored a touchdown in a program-record 193 straight games.
DEFENSE
DL Jonathan Allen – Alabama dismantled Mississippi State, thanks in large part to the Crimson Tide’s suffocating defense. Jonathan Allen helped pace the Tide with 7 tackles and 3 sacks to go along with a quarterback hurry and a forced fumble.
DL Gerald Dixon Jr. – Gerald Dixon Jr. made his presence felt in South Carolina’s Week 11 loss to Florida. Dixon picked up 6 tackles, including two of them for a loss, in addition to a pass breakup, interception and sack.
LB Ryan Anderson – Alabama linebacker Ryan Anderson terrorized Mississippi State to the tune of 5 tackles and 2 sacks, while forcing and recovering a fumble and earning a quarterback hurry. The two sacks were a career high for the junior linebacker. He now has 4.0 sacks this season to go along with 24 tackles and 5.5 tackles-for-loss.
LB Dre Greenlaw – Dre Greenlaw continues to impress for the Arkansas Razorbacks. The freshman from Fayetteville led the Hogs with the most tackles (12) in the SEC during Week 11 action. Arkansas rolled to the upset throttling of LSU, thanks to Greenlaw, who also collected a sack and forced a fumble.
S Jamal Adams – Jamal Adams did a little bit of everything for LSU in Week 11, except guide the Tigers to a win over Arkansas. Adams tallied 7 tackles, including 1.5 of them for a loss, and recovered a fumble. The sophomore safety also picked off and broke up Brandon Allen passes.
S Oren Burks – Vanderbilt defensive back Oren Burks only racked up 3 tackles in the Commodores’ Week 11 win over Kentucky. But his biggest contribution in the victory were his two interceptions.
