Allen Flanigan has received a waiver from the SEC and is eligible to play the 2023-24 season, CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein reported Friday.

Flanigan transferred to Ole Miss from Auburn last season and has been awaiting a decision. The SEC has certain criteria for players that transfer within the conference, and Flanigan met the criteria.

Flanigan averaged 10.1 points per game and 5 rebounds per game for Auburn last season. He spent 4 seasons at Auburn before transferring. At 6-foot-6, Flanigan will provide some length to the Rebels backcourt as they begin their first season under new head coach Chris Beard, who joined Ole Miss after being Fired from Texas in January.

The Rebels are coming off a 12-21 season that saw them miss out on a 4th-straight NCAA Tournament. This season, they’ll hope the addition of Flanigan and new coach Beard will yield a turnaround season.

Ole Miss begins its new era at home on Nov. 6 against Alabama State.
