Thankfully, amid the shutdown of all other sports, the NFL is still holding its free agency, and it gives some sort of normalcy that things will return once the coronavirus hopefully goes away.

The latest NFL star to receive a huge contract is former Alabama standout receiver Amari Cooper. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cowboys will give Cooper a 5-year, $100-million contract. The Washington Redskins offered Cooper “significantly” more money; however, Cooper thought he could win a Super Bowl in Dallas.

Impressively, the Dallas Cowboys managed to keep both Cooper and Dak Prescott. Dallas used its exclusive franchise tag on Prescott.

In 5-career NFL seasons with the Raiders and Cowboys, Cooper has tallied 357 catches for 5,097 yards and 33 touchdowns. His last 1.5 years in Dallas following the trade from the Raiders, the former Tide standout has recorded 132 catches for 1,914 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Cooper suffered from multiple injuries during the 2019 season; however, he played in every game, and now, Cooper is getting paid to the tune of $20 million per year.
