After receiving interest from nearly every major Power 5 program in the country, Amarius Mims is ready to officially announce where he’s headed to college.

During a live commitment from Bleckley County, Mims announced he will play his college football at Georgia.

The 6-foot-7, 315-pound native of Cochran, Ga., holds scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Texas A&M, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Oregon, Penn State, among others, but his recruitment has been down to Georgia and Tennessee in recent weeks.

Mims is rated as the No. 6 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 2 offensive tackle for the 2021 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Mims visited Knoxville and Athens several times during his recruitment, including trips to each in consecutive weeks leading up to his decision. He was on hand to witness Tennessee’s offensive line impose its will on Missouri and he was on hand to watch Georgia do the same to the Volunteers last weekend, just days before making his college announcement on his birthday.

Now the Bleckley County standout and 2021 Under Armour All-American has made his decision. His pledge to the Bulldogs elevates the program to the No. 7 ranking nationally in the 2021 recruiting cycle.
