Commit on the spot: Missouri lands pledge after offering junior college prospect Angel Matute

It didn’t take Angel Matute long to make his decision, the junior college prospect from California is headed to Columbia.
The 6-foot-4, 270-pound offensive lineman/tight end recruit played last season for Mt. San Antonio College
in Walnut, California. He officially visited Missouri over the weekend, which apparently was enough for the Tigers to be sold on him and for he to be sold on the Tigers.
Matute does not currently have a recruiting ranking listed on 247Sports. Missouri was the first major FBS program to offer him a scholarship. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining for Missouri.
Following Matute’s commitment, Missouri now holds three pledges in the 2019 recruiting cycle heading into National Signing Day. The Tigers signed 19 recruits during the early signing period.
The California native announced his decision Monday morning with the following tweet:
