Angel Reese won the ESPY for Best Breakthrough Athlete on Wednesday night.
Reese helped lead LSU to its first-ever women’s basketball National Championship this past season. The Tigers defeated Caitlin Clark and Iowa in a historic title game matchup.
While accepting her award, Reese promised another national title would be coming to Baton Rouge.
“Another natty is coming, period,” Reese said.

With Reese and other top players returning, LSU is one of the favorites to win the National Championship again in 2023-24. The Tigers also added former Louisville guard Hailey Van Lith via the transfer portal this offseason.
Reese beat out Clark, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez for the honor of Best Breakthrough Athlete at the ESPY’s.
Reese was in her first season at LSU this past season after transferring from Maryland. She averaged 23 points and 15.4 rebounds per contest this past season. She was named first-team All-SEC for her efforts.
