Justin Fields is in only his third game with Georgia, but many fans have seen enough from the freshman quarterback to start making some bold proclamations.
Following Fields’ 15-yard rushing touchdown late in the first half against Middle Tennessee State — his first touchdown on the ground for the Bulldogs — Twitter exploded with massive praise for the 5-star signal-caller. While some are saying Fields simply should start over incumbent quarterback Jake Fromm, he’s also drawing Heisman hype and comparisons to Cam Newton.
Pretty cool that Justin Fields is going to win the Heisman next year.

Justin fields and Jake Fromm are both unbelievable. But I think fields is a once in a generation type player

I hate to say it but Justin Fields reminds me of a smaller Cam Newton

I don’t know how Justin Fields feels about Cam Newton comparisons, but he better get used to them. He might be already.

Justin Fields just did that yet some of you folks believe Jake Fromm is superior

Speaking of Justin Fields, that dude is a game changer. Still raw as freshman QB but he would scare me more as a defender than Jake Fromm. #MTSUvsUGA

Georgia coach Kirby Smart appears committed to letting Fromm run the show, but Fields is definitely building a strong case for more playing time.
But is he a future Heisman Trophy winner or the second coming of Newton? Many think so now, but only time will tell.
