Anthony Richardson has been one of the few bright spots for Florida in a rough 2021 season.
On Saturday, the redshirt freshman quarterback relieved Emory Jones after Florida fell behind 28-13 off of a Jones pick-6. Richardson was responsible for 4 touchdowns (3 passing, 1 rushing), but the comeback fell short, ending on his second interception of the day.
After the game, Richardson was asked about fans’ concerns that he might transfer from the program. The Gainesville native gave an alarming answer that he’s a Gator “right now,” per Rivals beat reporter Nick de la Torre.
Anthony Richardson asked about fans worrying that he might transfer or leave: “I can’t really speak on that. Time is the only thing that tells. Right now I’m a Gator.”

Per de la Torre, Florida coach Dan Mullen said the quarterback position would be “evaluated” ahead of Florida’s next game, against No. 1 Georgia.
Dan Mullen asked about the QB going forward … says they’ll evaluate things during the bye week. Saw good and bad from both.
