Anthony Richardson is getting his NFL career going after being selected by the Indianapolis Colts with the No. 4 overall pick in this year’s draft. Now, Richardson has reportedly reached an agreement for his rookie contract.

According to NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Richardson and the Colts agreed to terms on a 4-year, $33.99 million contract. That rookie deal is fully guaranteed with a $21.72 million signing bonus to be paid 100% upfront.

It is unclear if Richardson will be Indianapolis’ starting quarterback for Week 1 as a rookie, but he’s certainly in the running. There’s no denying Richardson is viewed as the future for the franchise at the position and he has the skill set to be an ideal fit in new head coach Shane Steichen’s offense.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his chances at early playing time, FanDuel gives Richardson the 3rd-best odds to be the Offensive Rookie of the Year at +850. Former Texas RB Bijan Robinson leads those odds at +280.

Richardson finished the 2022 season with 2,549 yards and 17 passing touchdowns but completed just 53.8% of his passes with 9 interceptions. Still, his dual-threat ability with 9 rushing touchdowns and an electric NFL Combine performance was enough to catch the eye of the Colts.
