The Gamecocks now have just three commitments in the 2022 recruiting cycle as Florida native Anthony Rose announced his decommitment from Shane Beamer’s South Carolina program on Wednesday.

This news comes after Rose pledged to South Carolina back in February. The Hallandale, Fla., native picked the Gamecocks over finalists Penn State and Arizona. For what it’s worth, Rose recently announced that Wake Forest had extended him a scholarship offer.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound Rose is ranked as a three-star prospect, the No. 27 safety and a top 425 overall prospect in the country for the 2022 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Following this news, South Carolina’s current recruiting class consists of four-star Delaware QB Braden Davis, three-star Georgia linebacker Donovan Westmoreland and three-star Georgia offensive lineman Grayson Mains.
