The NFL’s Houston Texans are mired at 0-3 thanks to a former Texas A&M Aggie making a big defensive play.
Jacksonville Jaguars defensive back Antonio Johnson snared a diving interception off a tipped ball to secure the Jaguars a 17-10 victory over the Texans on Sunday. The pick was Johnson’s third of his career, and first since his rookie season in 2023.

Johnson’s interception thwarted a potential game-tying drive being engineered by Texans quarterback CJ Stroud. The pass was tipped at the line of scrimmage by Jacksonville’s Josh Hines-Allen and was intended for Christian Kirk near the goal line. The turnover was Houston’s third of the game.
A fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft with the 160th overall selection, Johnson only had 1 interception in his 3 years at Texas A&M – snagging the pick in 2021 as a sophomore against Missouri. Johnson tallied picks in his rookie season in 2023 against Pittsburgh and Carolina.
