With the regular season over, the SEC has only one consensus top-15 team in the two major polls, No. 1 Alabama.
Even after a 31-13 thumping to arch-rival FSU, Florida gets top-15 love from the Associated Press, but not the coaches. The writers similarly remain higher on Auburn at No. 18 than the coaches at No. 19. Both groups of voters agreed that LSU is the No. 21 team.
The ranking of Wisconsin will be something for those interested in the College Football Playoff’s final four. The Badgers are No. 6 in the AP Poll, but No. 5 in the Coaches Poll. Wisconsin will play in the Big Ten Championship Game, but not against No. 2 Ohio State. The Buckeyes lost their division to No. 8 Penn State.
