Georgia checked in at No. 25 to give the SEC six teams in Sunday’s Week 8 Coaches Poll. The SEC placed only five in the latest Associated Press Top 25.
LSU led the conference at No. 5 in both polls with Alabama at No. 8 in both polls. Florida was No. 13 in the AP rankings and No. 14 in the Coaches Poll. Texas A&M was tied with Michigan at No. 15 in the AP Poll and No. 16 in the Coaches Poll. Ole Miss was No. 23 among coaches and No. 24 in AP.
Nationally, Ohio State and Baylor were No. 1 and No. 2 in both polls, respectively. There were some significant differences. Utah was No. 3 in AP, but No. 7 among coaches. Michigan State was No. 4 among coaches, but No. 7 in AP.
