Arch Manning is making another rounds of unofficial visits this spring, and his latest is this weekend to Alabama in what recruiting insiders are describing as a “pivotal moment” in the ongoing search for his college choice.

On3 Sports has reported that it’s a pivotal moment in the recruitment of the No. 1 prospect in the country.

On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons says that’s especially true because Arch Manning has taken back-to-back impressive unofficial visits to Georgia and Texas. Plus, Manning is expected to also visit LSU sometime this spring.

This is an intriguing visit because Simmons believes that Alabama has possibly slipped some in the race for Manning, and in fact it appears the Texas Longhorns have the best chance of signing Manning, but Georgia is also believed to be in a good position.

“This is a big visit for Arch and Alabama,” Simmons said. “The buzz coming off visits to Georgia and Texas have been extremely positive for both programs. There is a sense that those two schools may have an edge on Alabama, so this is an important trip for both parties.”

Manning is 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds and widely believed to be a one-of-a-kind quarterback pedigree given his family connections and experience being his uncles are Peyton and Eli Manning. It was earlier expected that Manning would make his decision this spring, but given these additional visits, it appears it could come later this summer or fall, his high school coach said in January.
