It seems like just yesterday that Arch Manning was the most talked-about high school football player in the country. Now he’s being discussed as a potential NFL quarterback.
Manning will be a redshirt sophomore for Texas this fall. Three years removed from high school graduation, he’ll be eligible to declare early for the 2026 NFL Draft.
As one would expect, Manning’s name is all over the mock drafts and currently has the best odds for No. 1 overall draft pick (+225 at DraftKings Sportsbook). Draft forecasters and oddsmakers will continue to evaluate Manning’s draft outlook over the next few months. Manning, though, isn’t giving the draft any thought right now.
“I’m really just focused on this interview and our run tomorrow,” Manning joked. “Nah, I’m just focused on this year and getting better each day.”
One wouldn’t expect anything different from a Manning. While Arch may not have much to say about the draft, there’s sure to be lots of discussion about his professional future over the next few months.
It’s worth noting ESPN NFL Draft Matt Miller expects Manning to return for at least 1 more season of college football after 2025. Earlier Tuesday, Steve Sarkisian said he hopes the young quarterback has a “really hard decision” to make.
