Perhaps the most intriguing storyline of the entire 2025 offseason has been the hype surrounding Arch Manning and the No. 1-ranked Texas Longhorns.

Arguably the most talked about player in recent memory, Manning is finally poised to take the helm of Steve Sarkisian’s offense down in Austin, and teams across the SEC and beyond are itching to get a piece of the Longhorns as a result.

Despite the obvious target that’s been painted on their backs, however, Manning doesn’t appear to be phased much at all by the notion that everybody is gunning for Texas.
In fact, he recently offered a very interesting perspective on the situation when asked about it, providing a valuable insight into his competitive mindset.

“I think we kind of try to shift the narrative – we’re going for everyone else,” Manning said. “The target’s not on our back. We have a red dot on everyone else.”

Manning has long been heralded for his competitive nature, so this type of reaction to being “hunted” by the other programs on their schedule is nothing out of the ordinary.

With Manning at the helm, Texas is sure to remain one of the top dogs in all of college football in 2025.
