The official start of the Arch Manning era under center for the No. 1-ranked Texas Longhorns hasn’t gone exactly to plan, but the gunslinger isn’t going to leave Columbus without at least one highlight.
After struggling for most of the game, Manning stepped up late in the fourth quarter and tossed a gorgeous long touchdown to freshman receiver Parker Livingstone for his first score of the season.
The catch was reviewed after replay showed that Livingstone appeared to bobble the catch a bit as he went to the ground, but the replay booth upheld the initial call, meaning that Texas was officially on the board for the first time in 2025
The 32-yard bomb also put Manning and the Longhorns right back into the game late after failing to get any sort of offense going for pretty much the entire game up until that point of the heavyweight matchup.
It also marked the tenth passing touchdown of Manning’s college career, with the other 9 coming during the 10 games he played in during the 2024 season.
As impressive as the throw was, it ultimately didn’t matter in the end, as the Buckeyes were able to hold on and win the largely defensive battle by a final score of 14-7.
