One player has rushed for 1,000 yards in four of his seven seasons with his team. The other player is second in his franchise’s history in sacks.
Former Tennessee running back Arian Foster and former Georgia defensive lineman Charles Johnson were released by the Houston Texans and Carolina Panthers, respectively, on Thursday.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news regarding Foster on Twitter.

Foster, who played at Tennessee from 2005-08, has constantly been hampered by injuries in his pro career. The four-time Pro Bowler’s latest setback came from a torn Achilles in October that ended his season.
The versatile running back’s best season came in 2010 when he led the NFL with 2,220 yards from scrimmage along with 18 rushing and receiving touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Johnson is second only to Julius Peppers in Panthers history in sacks (63.5) and forced fumbles (17).
Last season, a hamstring injury limited Johnson to just nine games and one sack during the regular season. However, Johnson went on to record one sack in each of the team’s three postseason games, including the Super Bowl 50 loss to the Denver Broncos.
