Arkansas baseball lands Oklahoma transfer Jace Bohrofen, former top 40 recruit

Arkansas baseball picked up a veteran outfielder in former Oklahoma freshman Jace Bohrofen, who was in the transfer portal, when he announced his commitment on Saturday to the Razorbacks.

Bohrofen, from Westmoore High School just north of Norman, hit .252 with 18 RBI and two home runs in his freshman season.

This is the second portal addition of the offseason for the Razorbacks, who landed Kent State catcher Michael Turner last month.

Bohrofen made it on the Big 12 All-Freshman Team, and appeared in 35 of Oklahoma’s 55 games with 29 starts — 20 in right field and nine at designated hitter.

Bohrofen is off to a hot start in the Cape Cod League, the top collegiate summer baseball league, Hawg Beat reported. Through 13 games with the Falmouth Commodores, he’s hitting .349/.483/.791 with four home runs and 15 RBIs – all with a wooden bat. He also has more walks (9) than strikeouts (8) and is 4 of 5 on stolen base attempts.
