The University of Arkansas added to its claim as “Tight End U” on Tuesday with another commit at the position. Luke Ford, the No. 1 tight end in the state of Illinois according to 247Sports Composite, comes in as the third commit for the Hogs in this very young 2018 cycle.

Ford, a three-star recruit by the same metric, stands a huge 6-foot-7, 250-pounds, and should fit well into coach Bret Bielema’s physical style. Also a linebacker in high school, Ford certainly has a nasty streak.
As a tight end, Ford displayed long arms, soft hands, and a knack for extending his body to create a huge catch radius. Though his speed isn’t elite, he doesn’t carry much fat, and will likely grow stronger and more athletic once he gets with the Hogs’ well-respected weight training program.
If Ford lives up to his potential, he could be a consistent threat for Arkansas that turns third-and-medium to first-and-ten.
