Arkansas lands commit from top in-state WR Treylon Burks, becomes highest-rated pledge of Chad Morris era
The Razorbacks continue to find success on the recruiting trail with the latest commitment coming from in-state prospect Treylon Burks. The Arkansas native is now the highest-rated pledge of the Chad Morris era in Fayetteville.
The four-star in-state native ranks as the nation’s No. 63 overall prospect and the No. 9 receiver in the country according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Burks commits to Arkansas over scholarship offers from LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Clemson and Florida State, among others.
With Burks now joining Arkansas’ 2019 recruiting class, the Razorbacks hold commitments from 15 prospects overall. Burks becomes the third receiver to join the group, as the Razorbacks already held commitments from four-star Shamar Nash and three-star TQ Jackson. Based on Chad Morris and his staffs’ history developing receivers, there’s an excellent chance the SEC’s best receiving corp will be suiting up for the Razorbacks in the near future based on these commitments.
Following this commitment, Arkansas will jump up to the No. 22 recruiting class in the nation. The Razorbacks were listed at No. 28 heading after the big recruiting weekend on the Hill.
The Warren native announced the news with the following message on Twitter:
Thank you God for the many opportunities you have given me and thank you for the support from my family and friends. I’ve thought long and hard on the commitment process and Now I will be Committing to The University of Arkansas! GO HOGS‼️? @bo_hembree @coachjstepp pic.twitter.com/JjbaRh8Ndh
