Clyde “Smackover” Scott is one of only two Arkansas players to have his number (12) retired by the university.

Sadly, the former Razorback, who played varsity football and ran track for the Hogs from 1946 to 1948, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 93, according to WholeHogSports.com.

Scott was an Olympic silver medalist in the 1948 Olympics in London, finishing just behind Bill Porter in the 110-meter hurdles.

Scott played halfback and eventually spent five seasons in the NFL. He is also a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

He lived a long life, and the Louisiana native will be remembered by Razorback fans for a long time.
