Arkansas’ 2024 recruiting class took a hit this weekend. Braylen Russell, a 4-star in-state running back in the class of 2024, reopened his recruitment.

Russell made his announcement Sunday on social media.

“After consideration, I’d like to announce that I will be decommitting from the University of Arkansas,” Russell wrote. “Everything for me is still 100% open. Let’s work!!!”

Russell, out of Benton (Arkansas), is listed at 6-1, 225 pounds. On the 247Sports composite rankings, Russell is rated 4-stars, the No. 3 recruit in the state of Arkansas, No. 17 running back and No. 273 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2024.

Russell made his commitment to Sam Pittman’s program on Nov. 6, 2021. Since then, he has picked up scholarship offers from Tennessee and Ole Miss.

Russell recently shared a highlight 83-yard touchdown run he logged in Benton’s game against Marion.

We’ll see what’s next for Russell in his recruitment.
