If practice is any indication, Arkansas quarterback Brandon Allen is expected to play on Friday against Missouri, according to head coach Bret Bielema.
Allen suffered a muscle tissue injury last week after taking a knee to the lower back against Ole Miss. He didn’t return and was replaced by younger brother Austin Allen.
Entering the final week of the season, the Razorbacks listed Allen as day-to-day, saying Austin Allen would be ready to play if Brandon couldn’t go.
Bielema said on the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday that Allen had progressed, and that all signs were pointing to the junior being ready to play against the Tigers.
Bielema on Allen’s status: “If Brandon continues to move in the direction he’s already started in there’s not going to be any problem.”
