Arkansas starting quarterback for its 2018 season opener won’t be on the roster in 2019.

Redshirt sophomore Cole Kelley tweeted Monday that he will transfer from the Razorbacks program, bringing an end to his time in Fayetteville.

Kelley began the season as Arkansas’ starter under center but gave way to junior Ty Storey just three weeks into the year. He played in certain packages as a rushing quarterback and in relief of an injured Storey, but freshman Connor Noland was also in the mix.

Kelley appeared in nine games this season, completing 35 of 67 passes for 455 yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions. The 6-foot-7, 258-pounder from Lafayette, Louisiana, also gained 73 yards and scored three times on 28 carries.

Storey and a fairly packed quarterback room will return in 2019 as the Razorbacks try to move on from the program’s worst-ever season, a 2-10 campaign in coach Chad Morris’ first season. But Kelley won’t be part of it.
