Sophomore tailback Korliss Marshall returned to practice for Arkansas this week after serving a three-game suspension for an undisclosed violation.

Head coach Bret Bielema said he expects Marshall to be ready to go this weekend versus LSU.

“He’s cleared and ready to play,” Bielema told Arkansas News. “Obviously I don’t know how much. A lot of that depends on how well he practices. But there’s no limitations.”

Marshall was suspended after the home loss to Alabama. He missed games against Georgia, UAB and Mississippi State. Though the reason for the suspension remains unknown, Bielema did tell reporters it was for a violation of university policy.

Bielema said the sophomore is on his last strike with the program.

“All the things that we have put in front of him and he needed to do he did very, very well,” Bielema said. “He is on that last straw. And anything he does moving forward he has got to make great decisions to make sure he has the ability to stay here and play the game that he loves to play at Arkansas.”

Marshall hasn’t made much of an impact this season, but he will add depth to the already-talented backfield consisting on Jonathan Williams, Alex Collins and Kody Walker.

Bielema did say Marshall’s speed was evident on Tuesday, and that he could return to his kick return position in addition to other facets of the Hogs’ special teams unit.

“I’m going to get him involved in all four phases of the kicking game just because he’s got that unique speed,” Bielema said. “Hopefully we’ll expand his role in not just the return game, but also on some coverage units because he can fly.”
