The Arkansas Razorbacks wasted no time in replacing Randy Shannon on their defensive coaching staff after Shannon stepped down as the Hogs linebackers coach to take over as the recruiting coordinator at Florida on Wednesday.

According to a report from Football Scoop, citing sources, Arkansas plans to hire former Cal defensive coordinator Andy Buh to fill the vacancy on the staff.

Buh served as Cal’s DC in 2013, and in his lone season as a Golden Bears’ coordinator his defense ranked 124th out of 128 FBS defenses in yards allowed, giving up more than 511 per game. He was “reassigned” to a position coach following the season and was “reassigned” again, this time off the staff entirely, prior to the start of the 2014 campaign.

No details regarding the terms of a deal between Buh and Arkansas have been released at this time. Saturday Down South will continue to update this story as more news becomes available.
