After nearly completely blowing his opportunity to play college football in the SEC, sophomore defensive end Randy Ramsey is now out of Arkansas’ doghouse and is once again a full-fledged member of the team. Monday, the former walk-on announced he had been put back on scholarship in Fayetteville.

Ramsey played in seven games as a true freshman in 2014 before being dismissed in the spring of 2015 due to academic issues. The coaching staff allowed Ramsey back on the team following last season but was given heavy restrictions and had to prove himself before the coaching staff could guarantee his future with the team.
The sophomore was not even given his scholarship back upon returning and had to re-enter the program as a walk-on. With Arkansas’ fall camp now underway, it didn’t take Ramsey long to prove he belong back on the team as a scholarship player.
While he began his career at linebacker, the defensive staff has moved Ramsey to defensive end for the upcoming season. After making his way back to the team over a year after being dismissed, expect Ramsey to make the most of his second chance in Fayetteville.
