Arkansas State about to become Champions of Life?

If a new report from Football Scoop is accurate, that soon could be the case.

According to the site, former Tennessee head coach and current Alabama intern Butch Jones is set to become the next head coach at Arkansas State.

“We’re told a deal could be done as soon as tonight,” Football Scoop is reporting on Saturday.

In his 11 seasons as a head coach, Jones has an 84-54 overall record. His record at Tennessee was 34-27 before he was fired during the 2017 season as the Vols suffered an 0-8 SEC record.

Since being fired at Tennessee, Jones has worked in Tuscaloosa for Nick Saban.

Despite Alabama’s entire assistant coaching staff turning over since Jones’ arrival, Saban never promoted the former Tennessee coach to the full-time staff in Tuscaloosa.
