Arkansas strength coach names 2 fastest Razorbacks football players

Fans are always eager to know and players are just as eager to brag: who is the fastest member of the football team? Arkansas head strength and conditioning coach Trumain Carroll recently revealed the two fastest Razorbacks, according to Trey Biddy of 247Sports.
Carroll was asked about the fastest Hogs at a press conference ahead of the Arkansas Coaches/Media Gold Tournament. He revealed that junior WR Jordan Jones and freshman CB LeDarrius Bishop have established themselves as the two fastest members of the 2019 squad.
“Starting with the fastest guys on the team, you are well aware of Jordan Jones, that guy can roll, now. Another guy that is deceptively fast is LaDarrius Bishop. Day Day Bishop, he’s just as fast as Jordan Jones if not faster. I’d say those are the top two right now,” Carroll told reporters.
While fans like to compare 40-yard dash times, popular at the NFL Scouting Combine and Nike’s “The Opening,” Carroll said UA isn’t into clocking players’ 40s.
“Those guys move upwards of 23 miles per hour,” he added. “So, we don’t necessarily gauge it off of a 40 time because we don’t run 40s in football. But, off of the GPS data that we collect, those guys are up there at [23] miles per hour.”
That speed might not sound impressive, but Biddy points out that world-famous sprinter Usain Bolt’s record speed is 27.8 miles per hour. His average racing pace is 23.35 miles per hour.
It takes more than pure speed to be successful on the football field (as Carroll hints at with ‘we don’t run 40s in football”), but it’s definitely proof that Jones will be a threat to take it to the house in the open field and Bishop is unlikely to be burned by opposing wide receivers.
