Who will be Bama's starting QB next season? #AskSDS
— Taylor Houchins (@Tehouchins) January 8, 2015
In the mix for the job are Jacob Coker, redshirt junior Alec Morris, redshirt sophomore Cooper Bateman, redshirt freshman David Cornwell and true freshman Blake Barnett. But at this point in time, the frontrunner has got to be Jacob Coker. Coker saw action in seven games this season with a 64% completion rate and four touchdowns. He’ll have all spring and fall camp to get super comfortable with the offense.

As somebody who spent a summer studying abroad in Italy, I give you props on the decision. It’ll be great! Also, I’ve got good news or bad news for you depending on how you want to take it.. I think Arkansas’s season in 2015 will be… ok.
The Hogs lose Flowers and Spaight on defense which are big losses from a really fantastic defensive front this season. I’d expect much of the same on offense with the great running backs and decent quarterback play from Brandon Allen.
The main problem with the Razorbacks’ 2015 campaign is the schedule! Holy road games! After Bielema embarrasses pretty boy Kliff Kingsbury at home in week 3, Arkansas plays Texas A&M in Arlington, TX, then at Tennessee and at Alabama. In November, they have at LSU and at Ole Miss. Auburn, Mississippi State and Missouri are home games. That’s a pretty rough schedule which is not surprising in the SEC West. I think Bielema will show fans that his program is still on the way up in 2015, but the record will likely look something like the 2014 record.
Enjoy Italy! Drink plenty of red wine, hit up the coast somewhere (Cinque Terre up north or Amalfi Coast area down south) and find a good American bar to catch some college football even if it is a 19″ tube television with a crappy signal.
@SDS #AskSDS Just keep dissecting the SEC and keep us entertained-rerun archive stories if necessary-until the great darkness lifts in Sept.

We’ll do our best.

Oh yeah. In fact, you’re settling. I think you should have national championship expectations. I mean listen to the following:
Did Bo Wallace have his own theme song? Nope.

Probably not likely, though Saban may have made him cry off camera after the Sugar Bowl loss. You know Saban isn’t happy about being left out of the first ever playoff championship game, but Kiffin’s been doing his job in Tuscaloosa. Perhaps Kirby Smart needs a swift kick in the ass? Alabama’s defense got torched against Ohio State.
@SDS #AskSDS what do you think the likelihood is that Ole Miss lands CeCe Jefferson and Damarkus Lodge?
— Taylor Buse (@taylor_buse) January 5, 2015
It appears that Ole Miss has a good chance at landing the services of CeCe, but some recruiting experts think he’s very good at playing the recruiting “game” meaning who knows where he’s actually leaning.
Lodge has a number of teams in the mix with Ole Miss nicely positioned to possibly land him, but it’s difficult to predict where he eventually signs.
Hugh Freeze has shown before he can close, so it’s certainly possible the Rebs get both of these studs.

Bowl games get strong reaction by the media during the immediate aftermath, but the recruiting impact either positively or negatively is likely pretty minimal. Coaches have been all over the recruits well before the bowl games, and it’s probably a pretty easy task to spin a bowl game result as needed to suit your purposes in recruiting.
@SDS I enroll into UGA as a freshman next year. Chances I see us win a SEC championship by the time I graduate? #AskSDS
— D^2 (@dyer_dusty) January 8, 2015
Well, Richt has two SEC Championships since arriving in Athens (2002, 2005). He came super close in 2012 against Alabama, and not so close in a couple big losses to LSU in 2003 and 2011. So that is five SEC Championship Game appearances in 14 seasons at Georgia (35.7%) and two Championships in 14 seasons (14.3%). I’d say the likelihood is that the Dawgs will make a title game and lose it. At least you get to attend an SEC Championship Game, no? That’s half the fun!
If Richt can get a stud quarterback, the chances go up. Georgia has a 5-star QB commit for the 2016 class in Jacob Eason (we’ll see if the departure of Mike Bobo impacts that commitment), so perhaps your junior or senior years at Georgia look promising.
