How many SEC head coaches are considered among college football’s elite?
Several.
Athlon Sports has released its robust 2015 coach rankings and believe it or not, the publication went against popular opinion and believes Nick Saban still deserves the top spot over Urban Meyer (despite last season’s head to head lost in the College Football Playoff).
Graded using a formula centered around wins, recruiting, facilities, staff and program hierarchy, eight other SEC coaches met those qualifications as members of the Top 25 including Steve Spurrier (11th) and Mark Richt (16th).
