Earlier this month, Athlon Sports released its preseason All-SEC teams, a comprehensive list of the league’s best players heading into the 2015 season.
The college football publication unveiled its hearty preseason All-American teams on Tuesday, and the SEC is featured throughout with several first, second, third and fourth-team selections.
The league’s 27 total selections is tops in college football, three more than the Big Ten, its nearest competitor among Power 5s.

Headlining the first-team offense from the SEC is Georgia running back Nick Chubb, South Carolina’s Pharoh Cooper, Mississippi’s Laquon Treadwell and Laremy Tunsil, and Arkansas tight end Hunter Henry. Athlon’s first-team defense is highlighted by five SEC standouts — Robert Nkemdiche, Tony Conner, Reggie Ragland, A’Shawn Robinson and Vernon Hargreaves.
