The Julio Jones trade talk is now solidified, and he’s moving to the AFC. The former Alabama star is reportedly moving on from the Atlanta Falcons to the Tennessee Titans.
ESPN’s Dianna Russini reported that barring any setbacks in the next 24-48 hours, per sources, the 2 sides still are finalizing compensation but, as one source said, “I feel very good about this happening” If there are no snags, the trade official Monday.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that the Falcons are trading the All-Pro to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for at least a 2nd round pick. A blockbuster for Tennessee, who now gets the coveted big-play threat. And Atlanta ends up with very nice value.
Jones’ value and potential trade partners have been been one of the hottest topics of the offseason. His salary cap hit was viewed as a difficult issue for the Falcons as they looked to reshape their offense, and recently drafted Florida TE Kyle Pitts to pair alongside receiver Calvin Ridley.
Falcons and Titans still are discussing whether the package for Julio Jones will be a second- and a fifth-round pick, or a second-round pick with a swap of other picks, per sources. But the belief is the agreement will get done. https://t.co/1beR7C7VJi
