Auburn has added a transfer commitment from former Bowling Green tight end Arlis Boardingham, according to multiple reports.
Boardingham, once a regular contributor at Florida, transferred to Bowling Green in 2025 but missed the year with an injury. According to a report from Auburn Undercover, Boardingham has already signed with the team. If a medical waiver is granted for the 2025 season, he would have 2 additional years of eligibility to spend at Auburn.
A 6-foot-3 tight end from California, Boardingham spent 3 seasons with the Gators in Gainesville. He redshirted in 2022 after appearing in just 1 game.
In 2023, he made his first 2 career starts and appeared in all 12 games. In 2024, he made 2 more starts while playing in the first 11 games of the year. He was selected as an FWAA Freshman All-American in 2023, when he caught 26 passes for 289 yards and 4 scores. A 2023 game against Vanderbilt was the best of his Florida tenure; he caught 7 passes for 99 yards and 2 touchdowns to earn SEC Co-Freshman of the Week honors.
In 24 career appearances for the Gators, Boardingham caught 44 passes for 417 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Boardingham posted a photo in March with his right arm in a sling, adding that he was 2 months post-injury and was looking forward to fall camp. Boardingham reportedly had surgery to address a labrum injury, and though he was projected to start for the Falcons, he never appeared in a game.
First-year Auburn head coach Alex Golesh has been aggressively retooling the tight end room. Boardingham is the fifth transfer Auburn has taken at the position so far, joining Jake Johnson (North Carolina), Hunter Herring (ULM), Xavier Newsom (Howard), and Jonathan Echols (South Florida). The Tigers also signed Semmes (Ala.) Mary Montgomery prospect DJ Broughton at the position.
Derek Peterson does a bit of everything, not unlike Taysom Hill. He has covered Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Pac-12, and now delivers CFB-wide content.
